(Extremely) Delayed Reaction

The other night I was thinking about Will.

Will was my best friend. We used to spend all our time together. We drove around the streets of Miami all day, making stops at points of interest, whether they were art galleries or dope holes. And all day, we talked and talked and talked. About the silliest shit or the most profound, but always talking.

The Non Sequitur Post

This week was insane. I had my regular amount of work for the New Times, but I had a few additional clients which resulted in spending 24 hours working in which I only stopped to go to the bathroom and eat dinner (breakfast and lunch were eaten at my desk as I kept typing).

Aside from the New Times gig, I wrote a blog post for Club Med about a triathlon event held at the end of March at the Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie and I also wrote 25 pages of web copy for another client. The 25 pages are what killed me — they involved a lot of research and each web page was about two typed pages. So it equaled 50 pages with research and footnotes. But, unlike my “enjoyable” work, it paid a ton of money.

We Miss What is Right in Front of Our Noses

This morning I read a wonderful article in The New York Times. Surprisingly, it was about Florida and not about crime or politics.

I’m Huge in Poland

So, a few months back I was hired by this Polish writer to help her with an article she was writing about Miami for a Polish travel magazine. I finally got the mag in the mail today, but it isn’t what I expected. It’s in Polish. I know. Duh.

So, although not what I expected at all (in more ways than one), it is pretty cool to recognize my name among all these foreign words in a European magazine.

Writers Are So Hot

I was chatting with my friend and fellow writer Beth Wylde a little while ago and we were discussing my upcoming lesbian erotica anthology. While we were discussing the theme, we both brainstormed a bunch of possible scenarios and boy, is it gonna be hot! I can’t disclose too much at the moment, but let’s just say that the theme lends itself to all kinds of possibilities in regards to character roles, ie., older/younger, butch/femme, butch/butch, femme/femme, and so on. I have some great writers on board already and I know this book is going to be phenomenal!

I am very excited about some news I received this weekend, but I can’t say anything about it yet. Oh, the agony!
